THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION

It is clear that according to how one believes that the 'interpretation' of the Bible can go in many directions as we can see from all the different perspectives we see in Christianity. So how are we, those who really want to know the truth to decide whose interpretations of Scriptures are correct? Well the only answer I have is to see how prophecies have been fulfilled. Do our past have fulfilled prophecies in them? Or are most of the Prophecies concerning the 'end time' still in our future? Well there are many events in the past 1900 years that are extremely close to what the prophecies in Daniel spell out.  I have just one perspective here for you to consider but spelled out in 2 different ways but the conclusions are much the same. I am not totally   on board here, but I must say that they have really roused my attention especially since I have a time or two came to the same conclusions but not with so much detail as these two people give. So I am listening to say the least and keeping this in my thoughts as a possible truth. What brought me here to study this is the Jewish Holocaust , I just can not believe that God does not address this in prophecy. This action against His people the Jews is so terrible that the description of the 'time of Jacobs trouble' or the 'terrible tribulation in those days' in my mind speak of the Holocaust and if it was in fact the same thing then we are much future in the Last days than I ever dreamed.

So it is with this in mind I give you the following things just to consider if you will.

A while back as I was reading Daniel I felt impressed that the Abomination of desolation had already happened and that it  was the Dome of the Rock. The only problem of proving this is no matter how how I tried I kept getting different dates for all of these matters sometimes a variation of 10 years. Now this is so different from what all the Rapture ready crowd are preaching! So of course I doubted what I had heard until again as I was studing the tribulation and the time of Jacobs trouble, in the Bible ,I believe that the Holy Spirit dropped into my mind that the time of Jacobs trouble has for the most part already happened which was all the time period leading up to and including the Jewish Holocaust and then Israel  becoming a nation as predicted in the bible! So I started looking up all the dates and I couldn't find any one in agreement over them! But what I later found out is that no matter what date is being used, it all works out either way it was being calculated, so here are 2 differing perspectives to 'the end times'  to the equation and thoughts on this, that for me at least blows my mind. From my own personal calculations and studing various other dates I conclude that from  the years 2012-2030 , I lean in the middle like around 2019, I believe Jesus could return, that is according to the dates and calculations given to us from  the Bible itself.

"Go, Daniel. For these matters are closed and sealed until the time of the end. Many will be purified, made clean, and refined, but the wicked will go on being wicked. None of the wicked will understand, though the wise will understand. From the time that the daily sacrifice is removed and the abomination that causes desolation is set in place, there are 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits and attains to the 1,335 days. But you should go your way until the end. You will rest and then at the end of the days you will arise to receive what you have been allotted" (Daniel 12:10-13).
From the time that the daily sacrifice (Heb. tamid) is removed and the abomination (Heb. sheequts) that causes desolation is set in place, there are 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits and attains to the 1,335 days (12:11,12).

According to this prophesy, there was to be 1290 days (or "years") from the removal of the daily sacrifice/tamid until the Abomination is set up. The daily sacrifice/tamid was removed in the year 607 B.C., which was the 3rd year of the reign of Yehoiakim, king of Yehudah. And the Dome of the Rock - that Abominable structure - was set up on the site of the miqdash (the temple or "set-apart place") in 684 C.E. Those two events are separated by exactly 1290 years!!!

When you add 1290 years to the year 607 B.C., you come out to the year 684 C.E. It was exactly 1290 years after the removal of the tamid by Nebuchadnezzar in 607 BCE that the Abominable Dome of the Rock was setup in 684 CE  I believe that this is  the fulfillment of Daniel's prophesy in 12:11.

Now do we interpret that leftover 1335 days (years). Since the first part of the "days" prophesy was established to have been fulfilled in years, then the second "days" prophesy must be interpreted the same way. The question that begs us is, "Do the 1335 years run parallel with the 1290 years or do they begin after the 1290 years?" Well, the answer may be this. Did the resurrection of Daniel occur in the year 729 CE? (That would be 607BC + 1335 = 729CE)  Well no it did not. Nothing happened in that year. Jesus the Messiah didn't return in that year and no resurrection took place.
Therefore, the 1335 days (years) must begin in 684CE, which is the endpoint of the first half of the prophesy. They represent an additional 1335 years, after which the resurrection will happen. We are told "Blessed is the one who waits and attains to the 1,335 days."
It is simple arithmetic to begin counting from the date of the Abomination that desolates (684 C.E.) and add to that 1335 years. That brings us to the year 2019. In the year 2019, the second part of the prophesy, that which is stated in verse 12, will be fulfilled. This is the time when the Messiah will return and the resurrection is to take place.

607 B.C. the removal of the tamid
+ 1290 years the “1290 days” of Daniel 12:11
= 684 C.E. the construction of the Abomination – the Dome of the Rock
+ 1335 years the “1335 days” of Daniel 12:12
= 2019 C.E. the time of the return of Messiah and the resurrection of the dead

In 637 A.D. the City of Jerusalem was captured by the Saracens, led by Omar ibn al to Khatab. Between 684-691 A.D. the mosque, the Dome of the Rock, know in Arabic as Qubbat As-Sakhrah, was constructed on this site by Caliph Abd-al-Malik ibn Marwan.

With all these citations, it is rather well established that the Dome of the Rock began it's defiling of the set-apart place in the year 684 C.E., the year of the beginning of its construction. From that point in time and forward, the site of the ancient temple of YHWH has been off limits for anyone who worships the Creator. No one except moon god worshippers are allowed to enter the site of the Dome of the Rock. Certainly the Dome of the Rock has been a great desolating force against the worship of the true GOD.

Let's explore Daniel's 1290 "days" in prophecy,
5. (KJV) Daniel 12:11: And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

(Tanach) - Daniel 12:11 And from the time the daily sacrifice was removed and the silent abomination placed, is one thousand, two hundred, and ninety.

Sacrifices were suspended three times in the Old Testament: once before Daniel (Chronicles 28:24-25), once during the Babylonian captivity in 583 BC (Chronicles 36:19 and Ezra 3:6), and once, about four hundred years later, by the Greek king Antiochus Epiphanies. Let's try the 583 date considering that the angel Gabriel may have had Daniel write about the abolition of sacrifices with which he was directly familiar.

Old Testament - day = year "language" is suggested in Genesis' account of the flood as 30 day months pointing to a 360 day prophetic year, each year being equal to .9857 solar year (360/365.24) of or our modern historical record that the event dating comes from. 1290 x .9857 = 1271.5 solar years. Subtracting 583 we arrive again at 688.5 AD. The founding year of The Dome of the Rock - THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION.

There is a 2-3 year leeway in Babylonian period historical dating, rendering "zero year" discussion unimportant. Might the Lord have allowed for the calculation to remain simple anyway?
Daniel and John's prophecies were written over 500 years apart, yet the two books unite with mathematical precision - both pinning the year 688 AD - that was hundreds of years in John's future and over a thousand years in Daniel's future!

From TFP: "When Khalifah Omar entered Jerusalem in 639AD, he was met by Sophronius, Bishop of the Jerusalem Church, who showed him around the city. Seeing the temple mount (then in rubble), Omar declared that he was going to build a memorial to Muhammad on the original site of the temple of God. Sophronius exclaimed in horror, "Verily, this is the Abomination of Desolation as spoken of by Daniel the prophet, and it now stands in the holy place". Though Sophronius was a very old man of about 80, Khalifah Omar put him in prison and to forced labor, the severities of which killed him." - Jerry Landay - "The Dome of the Rock"

Is there an explanation as to why we couldn't see the perfect mathematical relationships between these two prophets before this "time"?

Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
Isaac Newton, Matthew Henry and many of those before us understood that the book of Daniel, and by extension Revelation, would not be fully understood until the "time of the end".
Let's try the very next verse after Daniel's 1290 days verse, and see if we can confirm the method we used, with Daniel's 1335 "days":

6. Daniel 12:12: Blessed [is] he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Tanach: Dan 12:12:. Fortunate is he who waits and reaches days of one thousand, three hundred, and thirty-five.

1335 x .9857 (O.T. prophetic year "language" conversion) = 1315.9 - 583 BC = 732.9 AD.

A quick Yahoo search determines that 732 was the year of The Battle of Tours, France. This battle was fought exactly 100 years after Mohammed's death. The Battle of Tours is widely considered to be the most important battle of the entire Christian era. Charles "Martel" (the hammer), against astronomical odds, defeated the Islamic army, and the spread of Islam, in its near conquest of the whole known world, as it headed up through Europe during the Islamic First Jihad. Indeed blessed was he who patiently waited and made it through the First Jihad, without converting to Islam, or denying his Lord and Savior.

The Dome of the Rock was built in the temple "Court of the Gentiles" that the Lord instructed to "measure it not" because He gave it unto the Gentiles.

Revelation 11:2: But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months.

It was 42 prophetic months, employing the language of "each day for a year", from 688 to 1967 when the Israeli's regained control of Jerusalem from the Gentiles.

Christians and Jews cannot deny that the Dome of the Rock is an "abomination" that was "set up" (beginning in 688+ or -) and "stands" "in" the "holy place". How is the Dome of the Rock standing where "it ought not"? All of Islamic history and worship is centered around Mecca, while the blasphemy of the Dome of the Rock stands on the temple mount, in Jerusalem the Holy City, that has little to no historical significance in Islam (in fact only through ancient politics), but is the center of historical significance for Christianity and Judaism. That abomination stands where it ought not, in the holy place. Indeed the holy place - the Temple Mount - God's footstool - is maintained in a state of desolation today with Muslim prohibition of prayer, and "holy objects" such as Bibles may not be brought in by visitors to the temple mount.

As has been shown, the "what" and "where" of Matthew and Mark, find the book of Daniel pins the 1290 days - when used as prophetic years in the language of prophecy - to 688 AD, the founding year of the Dome of the Rock. The 1335 days of the next verse peg the zenith of the Islamic First Jihad in 732 AD, at the Battle of Tours, which confirms the method. Daniel's 69 weeks peg the Cross to the year further confirming the method. Daniel's math is precise and cross-confirmed to the year of 688 AD by John in the book of Revelation. The "where" the abomination of desolation sits, where it "ought not", is the temple mount in the Holy City of Jerusalem. This is a place of little historical significance to Islam, but of conspicuous historical importance to Judaism and Christianity. Importantly, when, from 70 AD to 1967, or for the 2500 years prior to 1967, was Jerusalem not controlled by, or trodden by, gentiles?

Jerusalem was trodden down by the Gentiles from about 606 BC, until the Israelis retook the Holy City in 1967. But note that Jesus is talking about a Christian era gentile trodding in His future as evidenced by "shall be". 1967 marked the end of this great period of tribulation which began with the stoning of Stephen (since we are our brother John's companions in THE tribulation) and many others and slaughter of a million Jews in 70 AD, the 132 AD slaughter of another 750,000 Jews, the 152 year slaughter of Christians and Jews of the Islamic first Jihad, the Crusades, the Catholic Church persecution and murder of 4 to 20 million Christians, and the 8 million Jews, as well as many Christians, slain by the Nazis. Read Fox's Book of the Martyrs or Martyr's Mirror free online, for details.

When, in Jesus' future ("shall be") until 1967, was Jerusalem not controlled by - that is trodden by - gentiles?
Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
The Lord did indeed use the Allied forces to shorten those days of Jewish persecution eventually ending their being led away captive, last, in Nazi Germany.
Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not.
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days

The tribulation of those days began with the stoning of Stephen or perhaps in 70 AD, or with the first Jihad at Jerusalem in 639 AD, and go on up to 1948 - the beginning of the "time of the end", and immediately after the Allies shortened the days - while 1967 marked the fulfillment of the "times of the Gentiles" in Jerusalem. So does that put us now in the tribulation of these days - of the last era - of Daniel's "time of end"?
shall the sun be darkened.

Matthew 24 verses 1-14 include some history, and in verse 15 we found mathematical and textual precision in the Lord's symbol for end-time prophecy - the Dome of the Rock - with Islam front and center, taking Jerusalem in 639 during the Islamic first Jihad, and now in the "time of the end" with the second Jihad in the image of the first jihad, that we bear witness to on the nightly news.
Verses 1-14 describe the events of 70 AD and the historical realities we are witness to, and close in verse 14 with "and then shall the end come".

Verses 15-31 describe this "end" through events leading up to the Second Coming, and close with the coming of the Son of man and the gathering of the elect.

Verses 32-37 describe how we are to know it is the time of the end and close with the coming of the Son of man.

Verses 38-41 describe what the times will be like when this event takes place, and close with the coming of the Son of man and the gathering of the elect.

Verses 42-51 describe how we should prepare ourselves for this event, and close with the Second Coming and God's wrath on those left behind in verse 41.
