I HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT

While laying awake in bed last night listening to my hubby snore, he has been sick a few days and so we have been home for a few days, I was tortured in my thoughts as I lay there. Being in Chronic pain and my ability to be mobile becoming less and less a fact of life, I laid in bed with worry and fret over what lays ahead in the future for me, it wasn't comforting to say the least. I feared how I was going to make it, what if my hubby died before me? what was I to do then, how was I going to be able to live in my home when I am not able to do the things as I use to, in fact my hubby has been taking up the slack, because I am almost unable to do alot of what I use to do, so what then? I laid there thinking I had no hope for a good outcome. I even thought of taking my life if that fear came to pass. Then I thought about God and how within Christianity, only a few will make it into God's paradise the rest would either live on in eternal torment or God will cast them in to the fire after Judgement never to be remembered again. I thought about how it would be at that time with this theology. God raises from the dead all the mass of humanity who were either non believers or never have heard of Christ, so God will wake them up only to judge them and then either kill them or torture them. How in God's name can anyone justify that ? I am thinking to self, why even wake them up if God is only to kill them again? How stupid and cruel is that ? Listen for a moment, why bother to even wake the unbelievers up in the first place, if they all don't make it then let them be dead and gone and over with it, what is the cruel purpose to raise the condemned in the first place if there is no hope for them in doing so? Is this a cruel joke being played out, if so I don't want this cruel beast of a god. If they are condemned and with no hope then for God's sakes leave them be!!!But they are raised and for what other purpose? But yet the Christians who believe in annihilation believe that is exactly what God will do. Or God awakens them only to judge them  guilty and then throw them into the fire and the Second Death only so they will be consciously alive and be tortured through out all time for what they did or did not do in their extremely short life time compared with the final verdict of torture for all time.  Can any one see the mercy, justice and love of God in that picture? Not me.

Some different thoughts came to my mind as I was fretting over this theology  of eternal death or eternal torture ,that the many in Christianity believe and teach. Who was right? who are wrong? Can I ever know? What is the truth here?
Consider this story/parable: You have a wealthy man that has all the money and power in the world and then you have all the rest of us who do not . All of us in time ,owe this man many thousands of dollars , we are indebted to this wealthy man to the extreme. Then one day this wealthy man's son comes along and pays off all of our debts. No one now owes this man's wealthy father anything whatsoever. But only a few find out that this was done, they find out they no longer are indebted to the wealthy man and are now able to live life without fear of slavery or prison or death because they can not pay  or can ever get out of this indebtedness to the Wealthy man. So now after being told the good news that their debt has been paid in full by the Wealthy man's son, they are now able to live  the rest of their lives  full of gratitude , thanksgiving and love towards this wealthy man's son for all he did for them, he literally saved their lives. Now the rest of the people which are many never hear the good news of their debt being paid in full, their lives continue as it has been,  full of fear, and worry, and hatred towards the wealthy man's power over them and their indebtedness to him. They live their lives and die without ever hearing the good news  that their indebtedness has been paid in full. My question to you is this, even though they have no clue that their debt is paid in full, do they still owe the wealthy man ?Are they still in debt to this Wealthy man even though the Wealthy man's son paid it off? So in like thought, Christ paid the debt and died for our sins and the death that it produced in us , for ALL of humankind from Adam to whomever at the very last day He died for All, God is no longer attributing sin to us, we do not owe the sin debt any longer, that debt has been paid in full, the good news  is that the Son has cleared us from all sin and the eternal death it produced!
The truth is this that "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."(2 Corinthians 5:18-19) We Christians have been given the ministry of reconciliation. The whole world is God's. And it is entrusted to us to tell others this Good News so that they can in this life live it with out fear or shame or guilt! So that they can be truly thankful and full of gratitude and joy towards God.

The modern Christian concept of hell is not only unbiblical, but the fact of the matter is that it is straight from the devil himself and blasphemes the marvelous sacrifice Christ made on the cross of cavalry. The bible defines hell as separation from God. If you don't know God, or have a personal walk with Him, my brother and sister, you are in hell,  and can ir not get any darker in darkness than that. You walk in darkness no matter how you may look by the world's standards.  This is truth,if you don't have a personal relationship/communion with your creator, you are in hell, and are the  walking dead. The bible describes the situation of people that don't know God this way.

" ... ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:"(Eph 2:12) You have no hope and are without God in the world. That's hell, and your end is death.
But that is not the end of the story!

So as I laid there in bed last night God revealed to me in my spirit that He is in charge, and has been from the beginning, I need not fear, and that I have been given the GOOD NEWS in that God is NO LONGER IMPUTING SIN TO ME it has be taken care of by the work of Jesus Christ in his life and death and resurrection, it is a DONE DEAL, and I have been given this news so that I no longer must fear life here in hell, the darkness within me has been overcome by His true LIGHT !!!!!
"The truth hurts.", the truth kills. It kills the lies, it kills death. Understanding and truth will be used by God to destroy utterly darkness and lies. Love will be used to destroy hatred.

"This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."(1 John 1:5) If you are darkness, and have lies, deception, murder, greed, jealousy, envy and hatred in you, you will be consumed by the light of God and have all truth revealed to you. The way to preserve your soul is to ask God to show you His truth in this life, because only then do you get rid of the garbage in you and get it replaced with truth. Then, with the truth, you have eternal life because only pure truth can stand before God and not be destroyed. Only when you have truth do you begin to be alive. People with no knowledge of God don't have eternal life because life itself begins with the knowledge of God. If you don't have God, you don't have any life at all according to the bible. When the man asked Jesus if he could first go back and bury his father before following Him, Jesus replied,
" Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. "(Matt 8:22), meaning that those who are Spiritually dead are the same to God as those physically dead. The definition of eternal life is preserving your soul from this existence into the existence to come. If you have no life in this existence, you have no life to carry over into the next. The soul full of darkness will be destroyed, or the soul that sins shall surely die, by being filled with  God's light.

The bible declares in Isaiah 45:22 - 24

" Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Surely, shall [one] say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: [even] to him shall [men] come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed." The end of all the earth is to see Jesus and bow their knees and confess that He is Lord, to the Glory of God. There will not be a  forced show of worship here by some big angel pushing them down to their knees . They will bow and worship God because they will have the truth revealed to them.
Listen the only reason Christians are in the earth today is to show the world what their future is. We are the first-fruits. Not just the early church but all of us as Christians are just one church, always has been and always will be. The church of Jesus Christ. We Christians today are just as much part of the church as the apostles were at the beginning of all this. The church is the first fruits along with Jesus for the church is His body. First is never used unless there is a second. We are in the earth to be an example. James 1:18 says,
" Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures."

All the earth belongs to God and everything in it. The Good News we are to bring to this world is that God has sent His Son to be the sacrifice for the world. God has reconciled the world to Himself and your end is determined. You will go stand before God. Wait, you say. What about the verses which say those that have done evil will be cast into the lake of fire? Well I will leave that for next time. I just want to make it clear that most of us are all ready in Hell, here on the 3rd rock from the sun, many of us are tortured by our thoughts and our fears and our worries, already. The fear of a future Hell is nothing compared to the Hell most of us face or see each day, most of us with out Christ are already dead, dead, dead, and there is no life in us. Don't threaten me with a future hell, I have experienced that already, but praise God I have seen a great light in Jesus Christ and now I am saved from this life of death in this hell here in this life. I was dead and now I am alive for it was not Christ alone who died on that Cross, but I and every person did too, but the joy is that I know I was buried with him already and I am raised with him already and the life I now live I live by the power of His life in me , amen and halleluyah!
shalom in Christ.

THE JUDGEMENT

The book of Revelation discusses only 2 groups of people, the overcomers and those that don’t overcome. Period. Look at what the bible says.

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. (notice it says 'hurt', not destroyed forever, not tortured forever!)
Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].
Revelation 2:26-28 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name.
Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Now let us consider then what happens to the people who do not overcome. They won’t get to eat of the tree of life, they will be hurt by the second death, they won’t eat of the hidden manna, or get a white stone, they won't rule over the nations, they won’t be clothed in white, their names won't be in the Book of Life, Jesus won’t confess their names before the Father and His angels, they won’t be pillars in His temple or have God’s name, God’s city’s name, or Jesus’ name written on them, they won’t get to sit down on the Throne of Heaven, and they won’t inherit all things.
If you are not a Christian when your physical body dies, no matter what age you lived in, you ARE NOT AN OVERCOMER, and all those events are true for you. Pretty harsh isn’t it?
Now consider that this book was not written to the world, but to the church of Jesus Christ. This is not a warning to the world, it is a warning to the church.

All through the Scriptures it refers to God as a righteous God, fair and just, punishing people according to what they have done and bringing there own crimes back upon their own heads. Of God’s judgment of the earth, the psalmist wrote,

"O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah."( Psalm 67:4) and Isaiah says,

"With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments [are] in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness." (Isaiah 26:9).
According to God’s word, judgment is meant to teach and correct, and in the end will bring joy to those being judged. According to church theology, Judgment Day will result in an overwhelming percentage of humanity being either tortured or banished from all love and peace for eternity. This is that not scriptural, but it is sick and twisted and only the mind of carnal Man could come up with something quite so perverse to say about our heavenly Father and Lord, Jesus Christ.

God so loved the world (world meaning sinners because it was before any Christians were in it), that He sent His only begotten Son to it. He loved us while we were yet sinners, and Jesus continued to love it so much that He sent it the church. Did you hear what I said? In the same way God sent Jesus to the world, Jesus sent us to the world. Jesus so loved the world that He sent His church to them to proclaim to them the message of reconciliation, which is this;

"...That God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; (2 Corinthians 5:19) We, as a church have yet to tell the world this. We were commanded to teach this. 1 Timothy 4:9-11 says,
" This [is] a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.(not only) These things command and teach."

We are the overcomers,(that means believers, the body of Christ) we rule and reign with Him forever, but we will rule and reign over them. Not only that, but we will be called upon to judge the world along with Jesus. Don’t believe me? look at what Paul said.
1 Corinthians 6:2-3 says,

" Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?"
Now that puts a different spin on things doesn’t it? If anyone is going to hell for eternity, we will be the ones sending them there.
And before you answer, I will just leave you with one little thought. You had better judge them according to the same standards God used to judge you when you were a sinner. Think about it and pray.

ORDINATION OF WOMEN

Ordination of women in the body of Christ?

This issue the ordination of women." This term is  a misnomer to those of us who question the rubric of the clerical system in the first place. There are no valid "offices" of authority within the body of Christ - only Spirit-designated gifts and functions - then the question of women in positions of ecclesiastical power is largely moot. The less hierarchical our ecclesiology, the less threatening is this issue.
If "ordination" in its most accurate sense best describes every believer who has been "chosen" by God for "ministry," to participate in his "priesthood" , then there is no question but that women as well as men, every believer in Christ, is "ordained" of God.

Phebe and Junia
"I COMMEND unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also."
-Romans 16:1-2
Many Christian denominations teach that Phebe was a "helper". But when the word is accurately and properly defined, we see that Phebe was a female pastor who protected (see succourer below) her flock.
succourer (Greek: prostatis) a feminine form of prostates, denotes "a protectress, patroness"; it is used metaphorically of Phoebe in Rom. 16:2. It is a word of dignity, evidently chosen instead of others which might have been used (see e.g. under HELPER), and indicates the high esteem with which she was regarded, as one who had been a protectress of many†.

Strong's Complete Dictionary of Bible Words states that the Greek word for succourer, prostatis, is a feminine word derived from proistemi, which means to preside, to practice, maintain, be over, rule [Strong's 4368, 4291].
What does a pastor do? A pastor maintains and tends a flock.
Definitions according to Vine's† Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words:
pastor (Greek: poimen) a shepherd, one who tends herds or flocks Eph. 4:11, "Pastors" guide as well as feed the flock.
Next, Paul says that Phebe is a servant of the church. The Greek word for servant is as follows:
deacon (Greek: diakonos) the servants of Christ in the work of preaching and teaching, Rom. 16:1 (used of a woman here only in NT)
Upon careful examination of this verse, we see that Phebe was, in fact, a female pastor who maintained her flock, and shared in the work of preaching and teaching.
Next, a look at Romans 16:7: "Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me."
Junia was in Christ exercising her gift before Paul, and before he had any need to address the unlearned and disruptive women of 1 Timothy 2:12. He clearly states that she was "of note among the apostles".
According to the KJV New Testament Greek Lexicon, the name Junia is defined as follows:
Junia = "youthful"
A Christian woman at Rome, mentioned by Paul as one of his kinsfolk and fellow prisoners.
Lastly, the Greek word for apostle, as defined in Romans 16:7, means one sent forth. Strong's Complete Bible Dictionary defines the word apostle as follows:
an abassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ, messenger. Junia was a youthful Christian woman who was an apostle, an ambassador of the Gospel, a commissioner of Christ, a messenger.
I thank God for all the women ordained of God to be fellow servants along with all the men who are ordained of God to carry on the duty and service to the body of Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES OVER RIGHTS

This was taken in North Western Colorado.

This is my morning devotion and is more for me to do than anyone else in particular, I am just sharing what God is leading me to do , may it be a blessing to you all as well.

You and I as believers and Disciples of Christ have been called to freedom, but we must not turn our freedom into an opportunity to shrug our responsibilities, but through love we must serve one another. Galatians 5:13, my paraphrase.

We have  a culture that demands their rights at all times, but is that what our focus should be on as Maturing Children of God? It seems that many of us as Christians have lost our way, we have stumbled and gotten off course, I know I have. As Believers and followers of Christ our focus should never be on our rights but focusing on what we are personally responsible for in the Lord.
For instance a husband may expect his wife to do as he thinks she should be doing in the relationship or a wife may expect her husband to  do what she  thinks he should be doing in their relationship. As parents we expect obedience from our children.Members of church may expect their pastors to do more, the pastor may expect his/her congregation to do more. A pregnant woman may demand the 'rights' for an abortion, since it is her body and she has the 'right' to do as she pleases. Then proceeds to demonstrate her 'irresponsible' use of her body to everyone! People we do not have an abortion problem we have an irresponsible sex problem.
In our walk with the Lord our focus should be on fulfilling our responsibilities and not insisting on our rights. Husband instead of focusing on your wife, be supportive of your wife by focusing on your responsibilities as an adult in the Lord by being a loving and caring husband as unto your Lord, which is your responsiblity. Wife ,focus on your responsibilities in the relationship and honoring and loving Him as you would unto the Lord. Parents having and raising obedient children is not your right, but loving, and  disciplining your children and nurturing and instructing  them in the Lord is your responsiblity. Being a member of the Body of Christ and of a local Congregation is an incredible privilege, not a right. This privilege comes with the awesome responsibility to be God's  children who are supposedly maturing in the Lord. It is not our rights that we need to focus on . When we look at others and expect them to be doing something, this is not our place or our responsiblity, that belongs to the Holy Spirit not us. Our focus should always be what our responsiblity is in all we do, and we will go way off track if all we do is focus on our so called rights, and what the other people should be or not be doing.
So let today be a day you focus on your responsibilities as Maturing Children of God and do what you need to be doing in the Lord ,you concentrate on being led of the Spirit in your thoughts and deeds and let God work on everyone else.
Anytime we insist on our rights at the expense of failing to assume our own responsibilities we will live a defeated life.
Let us mature in the Lord by loving others and allowing God His sole right to do through them as He decides, and let us not shirk our responsibilities, but let  God do His good pleasure of loving and working in and through us in the service of others.

A Call To Prophetic Responsibility by Chip Brogden

Rev. Jerry Falwell (with Rev. Pat Robertson)
blames pagans, abortionists, feminists
& gays and lesbians for bringing on the
terrorist attacks in New York and Washington
Partial transcript of comments from the
September 13, 2001 telecast of the 700 Club

JERRY FALWELL: And I agree totally with you that the Lord has protected us so wonderfully these 225 years. And since 1812, this is the first time that we've been attacked on our soil and by far the worst results. And I fear, as Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, said yesterday, that this is only the beginning. And with biological warfare available to these monsters -- the Husseins, the Bin Ladens, the Arafats -- what we saw on Tuesday, as terrible as it is, could be miniscule if, in fact -- if, in fact -- God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve.

PAT ROBERTSON: Jerry, that's my feeling. I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven't even begun to see what they can do to the major population.

JERRY FALWELL: The ACLU's got to take a lot of blame for this.

PAT ROBERTSON: Well yes.

JERRY FALWELL: And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say "you helped this happen."

PAT ROBERTSON: Well, I totally concur, and the problem is we have adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government. And so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do. And, the top people, of course, is the court system..

JERRY FALWELL: Pat, did you notice yesterday the ACLU and all the Christ-haters, People For the American Way, NOW, etc. were totally disregarded by the Democrats and the Republicans in both houses of Congress as they went out on the steps and called out on to God in prayer and sang "God Bless America" and said "let the ACLU be hanged". In other words, when the nation is on its knees, the only normal and natural and spiritual thing to do is what we ought to be doing all the time - calling upon God. ~~~

PAT ROBERTSON: > Amen

The above transcript  is an example of our present day so called 'Prophets of doom'  and extremists speaking lies , and causing more harm than good for their word 'out of season' . I remember well the day I heard these two false prophets speak these words and how terribly angry and mortified I was that people of faith and unbelievers would hear this crap and  even believe them! To make lying accusations about our Lord was bad enough but the hurt that these words has caused the Christian Faith, was tremendous in the eyes of the world. Here is a word that was spoken the day after the World Trade Centers disasters and this word is even more true today!

A Call To Prophetic Responsibility
by Chip Brogden

PREFACE

In the wake of any catastrophe people will often turn to the Church, and to the prophetic community in particular, to give some kind of context and perspective for the event. Unfortunately, along with a genuine expression of God's heart during times of calamity, there will always be a relative number of "prophetic opportunists" who will use the occasion to establish themselves as God's spokesperson.

There are larger issues which need to be prayerfully examined, including the sovereignty of God, His judgment on the world, His dealings with the Church, the doctrine of dual-citizenship Christians have with the Kingdom of Heaven and the nations of this world, the eschatological considerations to be made (if any), and so forth. We have already noted that we, as the Church, cannot continue to ask God to bless our unacceptable worship. Thus, there is something paradoxical in the song "God Bless America". Can God really bless America, and do we really have the right to sing this song? To wrestle with these issues and come to an understanding of them requires more prayer and more words than we can do justice to at this time.

The issue of God sending judgments upon this world or upon this country in order to punish us is something which, admittedly, brings forth a personal response from us. We have lived through two major hurricanes, the last of which resulted in a flood which destroyed two houses in our immediate family and came very close to destroying our own. We have witnessed the devastation, the death, and the smell of it first hand. We have seen the inconsolable woman collapse to the ground, crying over and over, "They can't find my babies! They can't find my babies!" And of course, the inevitable questions which arise: did God cause this? Why did He allow it? Is God in control? Are we being punished? Why pray at all? So we have had the benefit of wrestling with these issues for two years, whereas some are only beginning to. By this time, everyone is wrestling with these issues, so this is a critical time in our individual history with God.

The following commentary does not attempt to address all of these issues. It was, and is, directed towards those who come along, while dead bodies are still being recovered, and try to establish themselves as a "prophetic voice" at the expense of human suffering. It is also directed towards those who, without thinking, forward these "prophecies" around and thus perpetuate their error and add to the confusion. Most of these "oracles", and the ones who take issue with our stand against them, believe that the Day of Grace is over for this world, and for the United States in particular. We respectfully disagree! The fact that the Church remains in the earth as "salt" and "light" means that the Day of Grace is still here. Like Jesus, as long as we are in the world, we are the Light of the world, and we should work while it is Day, because the Night IS coming when it will be impossible to work (John 9:4,5).

The following attempts to give some general principles as to why someone with an "I told you so!" attitude is prima facie evidence that God has not spoken through them. Finally, it makes the point that a true prophet will know how to proclaim judgment and intercede against it at the same time. This apparent contradiction only underscores the need for wisdom, maturity, and prophetic responsibility, because it is certain we have not seen the last of trouble on the earth.

IN DEFENSE OF GOD

"And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, 'Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?' But He turned and rebuked them, and said, 'Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.' And they went to another village (Luke 9:54-56)."

It is disheartening to observe how some within the so-called "prophetic community" will come forth in a time of natural disaster or human catastrophe and try to establish their credibility on the basis of some "word" of judgment which they purport to have received from the Lord in connection with the event. At best, it is inappropriate and inconsiderate to those who have suffered great loss; and at worst, it is morally, ethically, and prophetically irresponsible.

There are three important points to be made in this passage of Scripture which provide a standard by which we may reasonably measure a man or a woman who claims to speak on behalf of the Lord. It is hoped that this will provide some direction to those of us who are being inundated with "words" and claims of alleged prophetic significance.

MAY WE CONSUME THEM AS ELIJAH DID?

The disciples tried to apply something of the spirit and power of Elijah to their own situation, but they were out of step with the Lord and His Purpose. Jesus could not, and did not, give them permission to do what they asked. They misunderstood their new role in a new Kingdom. What they failed to understand was that God's dealings with man had entered into a new season, a new time, marked by grace, not judgment. The incarnation of Christ saw the beginning of a new dispensation of grace. In this season they were not permitted to call down fire from heaven to consume anything. The request that they be permitted to do so was met with a sharp rebuke from the Lord Jesus.

It is not that Elijah was wrong. Elijah was right for the season in which God placed him. But disciples of the Lord Jesus cannot do as Elijah did. One does not look for snow in the summer, or green leaves in the winter. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1)." We know that there is a future judgment that God will bring upon the whole world, but that time is reserved for the very end and only after every means of grace has been exhausted.

It is a mistake to attach prophetic significance to every catastrophe which happens and label it as a judgment from God, especially if we are doing it in such a way as to lend credence to our own selves as "oracles" or "prophets". Clearly, the ones who do this serve their own interests and not the interests of God. We are not in the business of saving the Church and judging the world; we are in the business of saving the world and judging the Church, and the Church is where God's judgment begins, not the world (I Corinthians 5:12,13; I Peter 4:17).

There is a fine line, that we dare not cross, between saying God permits something to happen, and God causes something to happen. In times of natural calamity or in cases of man's inhumanity to man, God can and will and does use these events to draw men to Himself, and He will often directly intervene in these events in order to minimize, or otherwise reduce, the negative impact such events may have. It is presumptuous to think that He sends such events upon the world today in order to "pour out" His wrath. To claim otherwise is be inconsistent with this season of God's dealings. To attribute the evil acts of evil men to something God is doing to teach us a lesson is to grossly mischaracterize and misrepresent God, and it ought to stop.

This does not preclude a factual presentation of future trouble, but it should be tempered with God's desire for repentance and restoration. For instance, we know that perilous times will come, and we know that men's hearts will fail them for fear, and we know that in this world we will suffer persecution. These are Scriptural facts: are they not sufficient all by themselves? Why must each specific calamity be individually called forth and predicted? Or why must someone allege its "prediction" after it has already occurred? It serves no useful purpose, and is not consistent with our role as ambassadors of Christ, peacemakers between God and man.

YE KNOW NOT WHAT SPIRIT YE ARE OF

Now the second thing we want to examine is the spirit and timing in which these "prophetic" words, visions, and dreams come forth. There is a palpable sense of "I told you so!" one gets when reading these reports which, invariably, rise to the surface and become well-known only after the disaster has already happened. It seems as if the ones who forward these writings are almost gleeful at seeing something come to pass which (in a general sort of way) seems to indicate that a "true word" had been spoken. What purpose does it serve, now that the "judgment" has already occurred? Are we now supposed to bestow some kind of honor or service upon these prophets of destruction in order to validate them somehow?

We should question the validity and genuineness of any prophetic opportunist who elevates "their" word with such presumption and pride. It indicates, among other things, that they have done NOTHING to intercede against the very thing they have declared. If in fact God did reveal it to them, they failed to grasp that the proper response to the revelation was not mere proclamation, but intercession - and this is what truly separates a genuine prophet from a prognosticator and fortune teller.

If it was wrong for Jonah to become angry when his word of judgment DID NOT come to pass, how can it be right for someone to be happy when their word of judgment DOES come to pass? This assumes, of course, that the Lord spoke to them in the first place, and that, in and of itself, is highly suspect. Either way, whether the word is correct or not, the spirit is wrong.

At least Jeremiah wept when he announced the coming judgment upon Jerusalem. He lamented the coming to pass of his word, recording his grief in the Book which is so appropriately named Lamentations. What a contrast between Jeremiah and today's "prophets". The "Sons of Thunder", James and John, were rebuked for having the wrong spirit, the wrong motivation, and the wrong perception of their role in God's Kingdom. They were zealous for the Lord Jesus and for the things of God, but they were deceived by a wrong spirit, and they were not in a position to even know to what extent this wrong spirit had influenced their heart, their thinking, and their speech towards others. If this is our condition then we should repent and ask God to create in us a clean heart, and to renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).

THE SON OF MAN IS NOT COME TO DESTROY, BUT TO SAVE

Like many of you, I am praying daily for God's Kingdom and God's Will to be accomplished in the earth. As I prayed it this morning in conjunction with the events of the last few hours I must say that it was with a new-found respect for the very words I am uttering to God in prayer. The aspects of God's strategic and tactical Will are as vast as the universe and as narrow as the personal interest in the lives of each soul living on the earth, to the extent that the hairs on their head are all numbered.

It is clear that a large part of God's strategic, overall, universal Will in this present age has to do with saving lives, not taking lives. Hence the apostle Paul writes:
"I exhort that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we might lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; WHO WILL HAVE all men to be saved, and to come unto the full-knowledge [epignosis] of the Truth [Christ] (I Timothy 2:1-4)."

The epignosis of Christ, that is, the full, complete, experiential, revelation of Jesus as He in fact is, the reality of Him as All in All, is the Divine Goal of God for all men. We, who are supposed to know the Truth, are called upon to offer supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks towards this purpose, that God's Will would be done on the earth. Proclaimation without the accompanying intercession accomplishes little for God's Kingdom.

Clearly, it is NOT God's Will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9). It is THE DEVIL who is a murderer from the beginning, who comes to kill, steal, and destroy. On the other hand, it is the Lord Jesus Christ Who is come that we may have abundant life (John 8:44; 10:10). The Lord is more longsuffering than some of His "spokespeople" would have us to believe.

OUR RESPONSE

The issue of who is or who is not prophetically gifted should be the very last consideration for us during these important days. Instead, we should humble ourselves with prayer, and with fasting, asking the Lord to reveal His Son to us in an ever increasing way. If we would seek God for ourselves we would not need a prophet to confirm everything for us. At stake is the Testimony of Jesus, and right now that Testimony is broken down, due in part to the confusion and immaturity of the Church, and further complicated by a myriad of voices speaking on behalf of God when God has not sent them. We need to know God for ourselves before we can properly represent Him, or speak on His behalf, to the rest of the world.

CHRISTIANITY WITHOUT REVELATION IS ONLY A RELIGION

The Church is not established upon her understanding of end time events, but upon her revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The Book of Revelation itself is NOT primarily the revelation of what the end of the world will be like (although we do learn that), but the Revelation and Testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:1,2). How many of us have been taught that the book of Revelations is mainly about end times? How many of us have been taught that the Book of Revelations  main topic  and point  is the revealing of Jesus Christ as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last, is beyond dispute?
The Church is not built upon Peter the individual,as the Catholic Church believes and teaches, but upon all those who know Jesus Christ by revelation (Matthew 16:17,18). Apart from this we cannot be numbered among the Ecclesia. This IS the Church: those to whom the Father has revealed the Son by the Spirit.

Paul, formerly known as Saul, was a self-proclaimed "Pharisee of the Pharisees", religious, devout, learned, and righteous according to the law of Moses, zealous for the things of God and the traditions of the Jews. Yet, we find him to be persecuting the Church of Jesus Christ, erroneously thinking that God was pleased with him. How is it that Saul, with all his learning, did not understand Who Jesus Christ was?The same way that 90%+ of the Church is doing right now! Simply because it had not been revealed to Saul by the Heavenly Father. Indeed, it was the Pharisees and other religious leaders and teachers who rejected the Lord and had Him crucified. They lacked the Revelation, as does the large portion of Churches today. The Pharisees and Scribes had the written Word memorized, but there stands the Word made flesh and all they see is "the carpenter's son", a demon-possessed man, a blasphemer, a magician. This demonstrates how worthless religious flesh and blood knowledge is.That folks is what most of us claiming to be Christians have!
One day the grace of God determined to grant Saul the Revelation of Jesus. That is to say, Saul was not seeking revelation, he believed he had it already. Is that not true of most of us who claims that we have it already? But if many are honest with themselves they find that their lives  still sucks ,because in all honesty their lives from within has not changed, although they have made changes on the outside, they were not done because of any inner change but because it was expected of them to do! When Saul met the Lord, Jesus didn't say, "Why are you persecuting My people?" With the simple words, "I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting," Paul received revelation into the Person of Jesus Christ as well as the Church. To persecute the followers of Jesus is to persecute Jesus Himself. Why? Because Christ and the Church are one!

Revelation is the difference between religious activity and true knowing (Matthew 7:23).Calling yourself a Christian these days is almost the same as calling yourself a Republican or Democrat. Becoming a Christian these days is a simple matter, we come forwards during a meeting and we decide to be a Christian, and then carry on with life as usual, we now are saved from hell because we did what we were told to and followed the procedure down to the letter. It has become more of a label for social convenience sake than a true testimony that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, dwelling within  us.That the potential exists for us to do things in the name of Jesus without truly knowing and being known of Him ought to put us on our face before the Lord, praying for experiential knowledge of Him by way of revelation. There's no other way to truly know Him. God has made sure of that. Most teachers are teaching what was taught to them, and their teachers learned it from their teachers, and so on it goes until we no longer have Spirit-birthed revelation, we have third and fourth-generational head-knowledge, yesterday's manna and hand-me-down flesh and blood doctrines. There is an ocean of difference between repeating what you have heard and speaking of what you have experienced! Is it any wonder that there is much learning, but no experiential knowledge of Truth.Paul says once he obtained revelation he had no need to confer with flesh and blood, why? Because the Revelation of Jesus is sufficient guidance. Flesh and blood cannot add to or take away from the Revelation.
When a person has the Revelation of Christ they will gladly and with great joy suffer the loss of all things. A person who has the Revelation will willingly lay down their life for what they have seen (Revelation 6:9;12:11).To be sure, when you really and truly meet Jesus of Nazareth, when you "see" Him for the first time, when He reveals Himself to you, it will immediately put you at enmity with those who claim to see but do not see: mostly, the religious and "spiritual" ones, the denominations and Towers of Babel which dot the landscape of Christendom, the scribes and Pharisees of Organized Religion. From time to time I will visit 'ex-Christian' sites on the Internet, and when they give their de-converting testimony , many times in the response section, some Christian will reply that apparently they never were Christians in the first place, and boy do they (the ex christian) get animated about that, they will say that they had did what all Christians were told to do, repented, confessed, was baptised, and went to church and opened their Bibles from time to time and Prayed to God as often as most of us do, there are even ex ministers and ex-pastors and even ex-bible scholars and ex-Bible translators stating the same criteria of what it means to be come and to be called a Christian. They are right they were as 'Christian' as any of us are, but NONE OF THEM every had a Revelation of Jesus Christ by the Grace of God, and His good pleasure! That is why they are Atheist they understand more than the rest of us who play church, that Christianity the Religion, as is preached and taught today is truly a sham! It's too bad that we can not come clean with the same truth  and understanding as well.

Matthew 7:21 – 23

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

If you notice in the verse above that these Christians were doing all the right stuff , and yet Jesus Christ does not even know who they are? Why is that? They were considered evil doers, really? aren't they preaching and healing and doing miracles? It is evildoing if we do not have Revelation Knowledge of Christ ,acting like Christians is not true Christianity, it is having a Revelation of the King of kings and Lord of lords, and if that is not our experience, then we are wasting our time playing church, because getting people saved is not the deal , introducing others to the fact that life without Christ is meaningless is the deal, when we realize our need, then  our need, will be met in Him.
Once our eyes are open to see God as/in Jesus, we will naturally fall down to our knees in awe and worship.
I, speaking from my heart can honestly say that I have not Seen  this Jesus, I have only head knowledge of this man but no revelation as a gift of God that he was not just man but God . I know that the 30+ years of Bible study, and listening to Preaching and teaching, that I can safely say I have NOT had such a revelation of Jesus!. I have not eyes that see, truly see, and ears to hear that truly hears the Revelation of Jesus, I have had religion taught to me, but I can truthfully say, that God has not graced me with the Revelation of Jesus, and that my friends has been MY personal problem, I will not  and have not gotten very far on faith alone, because it has not done a thing for me yet. But I know that I know, that when God by His Holy Spirit gifts me with that Revelation then and only then will I be a Christian and then and only then I will be truly born again, and then and only then I will be known to Him, but until then, I am just playing church and tossing around some words and teaching here and there, and definitely doing nothing to furture the kingdom of God. I know , flesh wise, that there has to be more to life than my life I am living now, there has to be more to Jesus Christ than I have experience thus far, how do  I know that ? It must be a revelation from God, because I do know from experience that all my years of learning the Bible has led me no where and left me with an empty religion, and a religion , I know I do not   want.

God, what a sham my life is! Forgive me for living such a wasteful life. God I know there must be more to it that what I have experienced thus far.  I know I do not know you or Jesus Christ, and unless you by your grace reveal him to me, I literally have nothing in this world that is worth my time and effort. If Christ be true, reveal Him to me and to the rest of the world.

A DISCERNING PRAYER

Sometimes we don't know whether it is Satan hindering us or the Spirit of God saying no not now, or whether the pain in your body is because of something you did, or satan laying something on you, it is best that no matter what the case that we lean on Christ for all things in all areas of our life. Here is a short prayer that might keep your mind in the right place. It should never be considered as some incantation or formula but an attitude of submission to God in all things.
We should cultivate an attitude of prayer that says, in effect,

“Lord, forgive me if I have sinned against you. If I have violated some natural law, show me what it is and I will set it right. If this is from Your hand I accept it, for You do all things well. I will submit to Your dealings with me. Nevertheless, I steadfastly resist anything and everything pertaining to the enemy.”

In this way we are not committing ourselves to one particular interpretation of the event. On the one hand we are willing to submit to the dealings of the Lord in our environment, and on the other hand we firmly maintain our ground against the adversary. This sort of prayer closes all the loopholes. It is most pleasing to God, for it is humble towards Him yet firm towards the enemy.  It is a prayer towards a  heart-attitude towards the will of God , which must be nurtured.

What would Jesus really be doing in this world today?

The weapons with which we fight are not human weapons, but are mighty for God in overthrowing strong fortresses.(2Cor.10:4,Weymouth N.T.)

The Christian and the topics of war and fighting, has been the topic of discussion for a while. Should a Christian be fighting with human guns and weapons and should they be going to war with any one? What does Jesus say about it?
Christ himself said,Joh 18:36" My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence."

Is He   saying that if His kingdom where like the kingdoms in this world--His servants would fight? That they would operate the way that rulership in this world systems would operate in the world--the servants or citizens of the leaders would fight for their leaders, their countries?
Are we called to be not of this world? Are we called to deal with others not as the world would deal with others?
I think these are questions each of us who Identify with Christ and His Kingdom should ask ourselves when we are asked to do as the world does.We should take note, Jesus specifically says to Peter not to fight--not to operate as the worldly kingdom--not to use authority or power over others--even unto death. Jesus operated 100% of His time in the earth in the right kingdom, do we as followers of Christ? He never used authority over another person, and He specifically told the apostles to operate in the same way (Jesus said it about Himself--!!--this is not an opinion!!!)--especially "amongst yourselves". The kingdom way of operating, according to Jesus" example and doctrine--is to lay down your life--to serve others--to minister to others--not to rule with authority over others.
Drinking the Cup Of Jesus ,as we have seen, the concept of drinking the cup, that Jesus drinks, is one of servanthood. But servanthood in the way of not using authority over others--not ruling but serving God and people.

(Matthew 20: 21-26)

21* And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. 22* But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. 23* And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. 24* And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren. 25* But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26* But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

I think that for the most part Christians are truly clueless as to who they really are, and why they are here as the body of Christ in the World. Many believe that they are to reign in this life and rule over everyone, but is that how Jesus used his authority in this world, really? What authority indeed do we really have In Christ in this world? What really was Jesus' purpose in this life? What was He 'sent' and 'anointed' to do in this world? "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." (Luke 4:18-19, KJV).
Jesus gave authority (the power to rule over) 3 things.....Really if Christ is our Head and authority, and we are His body, what in this world would Jesus really be doing? It is truly a thought to meditate on this day.

1. Sin. We have the blood of Jesus Christ, which forgives all our sin--(and the sin of all the world!) so that we may have the "free gift" of eternal life. We are saved by grace--not by works--and all that one needs to attain this great salvation is......
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9, KJV).
In fact, to believe in Jesus, is to accept His apostleship
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:16-17, KJV).

Note the word "sent" (Greek: apostello).
"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3, KJV).
Jesus was "sent" of the Father--to save us all.
"Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; (Hebrews 3:1, KJV).
Doesn't this simple Bible verse tell us that we ALL--"brethren (and sisters)"--have an apostolic calling to share the Gospel with others?
2. Sickness and disease.
"And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease." (Matthew 10:1, KJV).
Believers have authority over all manner of sickness and disease. Yes, Jesus heals. He healed all who believed 2,000 years ago, and He heals today--if we will believe in Him--in His authority---by faith. Every believer has the the right--the authority--the power to rule over sickness--in the name of Jesus Christ.
Christ within any believer can and should heal.
That is ministry.
3. Satan.
"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Mark 16:17-18, KJV).
The Bible says that all believers have the authority to cast out the devil and his demonic forces in the earth. All believers have the victory over every worldly spirit and every deception of the enemy.
God inside gives discernment, but we as believers must speak out our authority--and our authority is meant to be used to help (minister to) others.
We ALL as believers have the right to witness the Gospel, to pray for the sick and to pray for those in need of deliverance.
Remember it this way--you as a believer have....
Authority (the God-given power to rule)--Over--"sin--sickness--and satan"
Notice: the "authority" we all have as believers lines up exactly with the purposes of Christ (luke 4:18--again!)
Jesus as a man in the earth, demonstrated His power to rule over these things--and He clearly imparted this authority to all who followed Him by faith. It is His Holy Name that saves--heals and delivers us---and saves--heals and delivers others--through us., the church--His body in the earth, not just you church pastor or minister, but the whole body of Christ in this world, if you are a Christian, a follower of Jesus then that means you and me.
"For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants,(us) and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch." (Mark 13:34)
This is Jesus' description of Himself. He has taken a journey (gone to His place of authority at the right hand of God in heaven). He says very succintly that He has given His authority--to His servants--to "every man (and woman)" his work. Christ's authority is in every one of us--we are ALL called to serve (minister) this authority, and follow His example.
Is that so hard to understand?

WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

To be honest with ya, many times I just get real disgusted with religion and keeping the faith. Many times things just don't add up for me.To have faith with out anything experiential is truly hard. I really don't want to believe in God through some one's else's visions, dreams, study or insights. I find it hard to base my faith on a book written by men from a time and culture that I can not even relate to. Sometimes I just want to just walk away. I have been feeling this way for a long time. Today I decided to take a sabbatical from anything religious or of 'the faith' . So the first song that I hear when I turn on the radio and listen to Sirus/XM is what? Alan Jackson singing a song I have never heard him sing before, which is : A WORK IN PROGRESS, I know it must be an accident. But my blog title shows up always on days like this, it doesn't seem to matter what I may be doing, but those words will pop up out of no where , corrinky dinky isn't' it?
So here is a few lines of the lyrics:
You get tired and disgusted with me
When I can't be just what you want me to be
I still love you and I try real hard
I swear one day you'll have a brand new car
I even asked the Lord to try to help me
He looked down from heaven and said to tell you please
Just be patient I'm a work in progress
I'm sorry I got mad waiting in the truck...........

Here are some more corrinky dinks from this song that relate to me, first off I am in a semi truck right now going down the road and waiting , and trying to be patient with God and myself. My problem is when I think about something, or want to do something, I want to do it or have it yesterday, I hate waiting and my whole life seems like nothing but a big long wait. Another corinky dink is that I had a dream last night, there were a whole line of  1950's pink old cars all alike all the same make and color and only a few scratches on the sides or nicks and pings here and there that were different with each car and I was trying to choose which one to drive, and having a hard time trying to pick which car would really work, start and perform for me without a hitch. So in this song we have the words : a work in progress, car and truck. INTERESTING  isn't it?
In a dream car means:In waking life cars are vehicles of transport; a way of moving our physical bodies around. In dreams however, cars are symbols of our bodies--the vehicles which our spiritual selves use as a means of experiencing physical reality. Dreams of cars, or most precisely, dreams of what is going on with the cars are symbols of how our psyche feels about what it is experiencing in waking life.

This truly makes sense with me, it would seem that I am trying to pick the right spiritual path to ride out in my life but from the out side I don't have much to go on in picking out the right one..........or that maybe I feel there really no choice at all since they are all so much alike.?
So again I really don't get much help in this matter, still left with no answer to help me make that choice. It seems that I have read or heard others tell how God did this or that in a profound way and that is why they made the choice of religion or church or what ever. I only get dreams telling me what I am doing, but no help in what I a trying to figure out, and so it goes.
To dream the color pink:
Most people dream in colors, but at times some stand out more than others. Colors are symbolic and their symbolism is part of culture. We communicate with color and relate ideas with them. For example, a bride wears white and black is worn at funerals. Colors also represent energy. The meaning that you give to the colors in your dreams depends on the meaning that you give to those colors in daily life. If you "see red" when you are angry, then red symbolizes anger and not passion for you. Some generalizations have been made as to the meaning of colors in dreams. Pink usually symbolizes health and good feelings. It is a traditionally a feminine color, and some feel that it connotes love. Pink is soft and fuzzy, like girls!Pink represents love, joy, sweetness, happiness, affection, kindness. Being in love or healing through love is also implied with this color.

So my spiritual ride that I am trying to chose is a color of the feminine, happiness, healing, love, and the heart area of the chakras. So then all the cars were PINK  so does it mean that no matter the choice that it will bring healing and love etc. to me  or that is what I am looking for within all the various spiritual paths? Another corinky dink is the age of these cars all made in the 1950's , I was born in 56 and I am 53 , interesting? Again the answers don't seem to be readily available, again. And so it goes
